Athena to Launch Beta version of New Website and Platform in January 2022

Athena International Publishing will be launching a beta version of its new website and STM content platform in January 2022. The company, which was founded at the end of 2021, will be going live with an initial portfolio consisting of 4 journals, 7 book series and 1 book. All content will be Open Access. It is expected that the full development of all systems and workflows will be completed by mid-2022.

Athena International Publishing was launched at the end of 2021 to further support the efficient dissemination of “sound science” and the advancement and exchange of scientific knowledge at a time when general trust in science is globally under pressure. Part of this endeavor is to develop a state-of-the-art technology infrastructure including a publishing website, content platform, underlying production system, editorial workflow system, etc. The company today announced that it will be ready to launch a beta version of the new website and STM content platform at the end of January 2022. Development of additional underlying systems and workflows will continue throughout the first half of the year and is expected to be completed by mid-2022.

The Athena publishing portfolio consists of journals, book series, conference proceedings and books covering all STM disciplines including Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Biology and Life Sciences, Health and Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences and Humanities. The beta version of the website will be launched with an initial portfolio consisting of 4 journals, 7 book series and 1 book with the aim to scale this up significantly throughout 2022 and 2023. As Athena is an Open Access publisher all content hosted on the new platform will be free to read, download, copy and distribute under the terms of the applicable Creative Commons end-user license. Further updates on the technological development will be provided throughout 2022.
